What is Sunday School?
At South Main we believe that Sunday School for all ages is the best way for us to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 18:18-20)
Then Jesus came near and said to them, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And, remember, I am with you always to the end of the age."
Our Sunday School has three tasks:
1) Reaching people - "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost" (Luke 19:10)
2) Teaching people - "Man must not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)
3) Ministering to people - "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40)
2) Teaching people - "Man must not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4)
3) Ministering to people - "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me." (Matthew 25:40)
Sunday School small groups are the best place to reach and get connected with others. We believe it is a great place to teach all to be better followers of Christ. The small group also makes it easier to minister to everyone by having groups involved in caring for each other.
